Jagallo Nero; (F) A very vigorous, attractive, jagged leaved, Cavolo Nero type kale with blue grey leaves.
Has a mild cabbage flavour, ideal for winter salads. Also suitable for baby leaf.
Nero de Toscano; (K) Long heavily blistered leaves of dark green. Very dwarf growing
produces an abumdance of curly leaves from the centre of each plant.
Red Russian; (K) Leaves are flat & toothed with deep purple veins,very tender.
Thousand Head;(D) Tall variety,leafy and very frost resistant.
Kale (Cabbage) Black Tuscany;(G) Palm Cabbage,Large very dark strap leafed plant.

be done as instructed in CALCULATING PRICE PER WEIGHT (below) or the requirements can be
posted to me to calculate in a quotation to be returned by return post. The vegetable
seeds are sold at the above prices in plain packets without sowing instructions on the
packets, but sowing instructions are found in my vegetable list for most of the varieties
of vegetable seeds sold by weight in the main vegetable list.
SECTION 2;
CALCULATING PRICE PER WEIGHT; When the weight of vegetable seed required is not shown in
the Vegetable Ready Reckoner the seed cost is found by multiplying the PRICE PER GRAM
of the LETTER GROUP by the weight of the seed required. This total(if the weight is
over 15 grams) is multiplied by the 40% of discount allowed for the 15 grams plus DISCOUNT RANGE that
the weight of seed is in this total is subtracted from the first total to give the cost.
EXAMPLE:20g.Pumpkin Mammouth C=36P/g*20g=£7.20:£7.20*40% discount=£2.88P;(£7.20-£2.88P=£4.32)

Dwarf Green Curled-Afro;(ac) Hardy selection which stands severe winter extremely well.
Dwarf Siberian; (af) Short plants with intensely ruffled,dark-green leaves.
Fribor F-1;(aq) Extremely uniform,extra dark green & densely curled leaves,hardy.
Green Lance F-1;(ae)Oriental type,produces edible young leaves,buds & stalks even during hot weather.
Gulag Stars; (af) Very colourful & diverse leaf types.
Lacinato (aq) Has deep blue-green,narrow leaves with a wrinkled or pebbled texture. Pick the leaves while small and tender.
The larger leaves are better after they've been sweetened by a light fall frost. It is from the
eighteenth century. It is a hardy variety.
Pentland Brig;(af) Thousand head/Curled kale cross,hardy,very palatable.
Redbor F-1;(bf) Red leaves Autumn/early winter.
Siberian Improved Kale ('Ragged Jack');(ac) Extremely hardy broad thick leaves that have frilled edges & a blue-green colour.
Vates Blue Curled;(ac) Very early,very hardy type with compact,finely curled,deep blue-green leaves.
Westland Winter;(bg) High yielding,large spreading plant habit,good winter hardiness makes this
variety ideal for cropping between Oct. & March.
Winterbor F-1;(bf) Very winter hardy,dark green finely curled leaves.
Vates; (ab) Attractive curled leaves which resist yellowing. Upright,hardy plants.
Winter Red (ac) A vigorous Red Russian kale that colours up well even before cold weather,but especially after cool weather.
It has oak-leaf shaped leaves that are more deeply cut than some other common strains of Red Russian kale.
Good for salad greens when leaves are thumb size; larger leaves can be used for cooked greens.
